In a world that is filled with many cultures, values as well as opportunities, the search for the “best” way of life is comparatively a subjective one. It is in the search for well-being and human satisfaction where an individual’s weighing of core elements such as health, happiness, career, relationships, and personal values thrive in. With the rapid pace of urbanization, modern lifestyles like fast paced careers, integration of technology, and a cospolitan outlook have emerged. The confluence of opportunities often lands them at the edge of innovation where most things are happening and everything is available. The modern lifestyle emphasizes individualism, personal achievement, and the pursuit of material success.

The latter might be attributed to the excessive urban bustle that taxes stress levels and contributes to burnout, but more importantly, alienates man from his natural habitat. Personal ambition also accounts for the aspect of feeling alone at the top in matters regarded as incompatible with work-life management.

Minimal Living

This is as opposed to the type of consumerist culture that has pervaded modern civilization with its cry for simplicity and intentionality. Minimalist living advocates experience over ownership and further more space both physically and psychologically in life. This way of living encourages the notion that happiness is not derived from material abundance but mindful and purposeful existence.

While this can lead to minimal stress and more richness in experience, it is seen as too idealistic or unattainable by those whose reward in life is derived from creature comforts and gadgets that a more materialistic lifestyle can afford.

Rural Retreats

Others prefer to get away from city chaos and live the rural way of life. Here, one feels a sense of serenity living close to nature amid greenery with the light breeze that flows as opposed to congested towns. Living in the countryside invariably exhorts individuals to sustain practices as well as a more simpler way of living.

However, considering the rural community nature, few cases may emerge that entail few amenities and jobs which consequently inhibit professional growth as well as modern ways of living. Such isolation can also contribute from the paucity of the social aspect developed in community experiences.

Digital Nomadism

Remote work has pioneered a digital nomad life where people can comfortably work from wherever they find an internet connection. It brings with it flexibility and allows one to embrace other cultures while working on different new locations, which can bring along excitement and independence.

Contrarily, rootlessness can also be a side effect to not having a permanent base at home and travelling without any break can also be physically and mentally exhausting. Secondarily, it may be hard for digital nomads to form a relationship or maintain one.

Every person’s search for the best lifestyle is deeply subjective, unique, conditioned by personal preferences, values, and aspirations. In its turn, each single lifestyle has its advantages and disadvantages that are inherent to it, what will work for one person may be highly unsuitable for another. The real trick is to find balance with the personal values, foster well-being as well as allow for augmentation and adaptability. Ultimately that is the most proper lifestyle which brings harmony in the complexities of modern existence and empowers the people to live a filling life on their own conditions.
